3. Which service will we provide you with?
Investment

We will advise and make a recommendation for you after we have assessed your needs.
 ¨ You will not receive advice or a recommendation from us. We may ask some questions to narrow down the selection of products that we will provide details on. You will then need to make your own choice about how to proceed.

We will provide basic advice on a limited range of stakeholder products and in order to do this we will ask some questions about your income, savings and other circumstances but we will not:

  • Conduct a full assessment of your needs;
  • Offer advice on whether a non-stakeholder product may be more suitable

4. What will you have to pay us for our services?
Investments

Before we provide you with advice, we will give you our keyfacts guide 'about the cost of our services'.

We will tell you how we get paid, and the amount, before we carry out any business for you.
Insurance

A Fee.

No fee for advising on or arranging non-investment insurance contracts.
You will receive a quotation which will tell you about any other fees relating to any particular insurance policy.
Mortgages

No fee. We will be paid by commission from the lender.

5. Who regulates us
Campton (Financial Services) Limited, 126 High Street, Godstone, Surrey, RH9 8DX is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Our FCA Register number is 189000.
Our permitted business is advising on and arranging life insurances, most types of investment, pensions (including Stakeholder but excluding transfers from or Opting Out of Occupational Schemes), health-related insurances and mortgages.

6. What to do if you have a complaint
If you wish to register a complaint, please contact us:

If you cannot settle your complaint with us, you may be entitled to refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
7. Are we covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)?
We are covered by the FSCS. You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim.
Investment

Most types of investment business are covered for 100% of the first £30,000 and 90% of the next £20,000 so the maximum compensation is £48,000.

Insurance

Insurance advising and arranging is covered for 100% of the first £2,000 and 90% of the remainder of the claim, without any upper limit.

Mortgages

Mortgage advising and arranging is covered for 100% of the first £30,000 and 90% of the next £20,000 so the maximum compensation is £48,000.

Additional Terms Of Business

We offer you independent financial advice, but occasionally we, or one of our clients, may have some form of interest in business we transact for you. If this happens, or we become aware that our interests or one of our other clients conflict with your interests, we will inform you and obtain your consent before we carry out your instructions.

You, or we, may terminate our authority to act on your behalf at any time and without penalty. Notice of this termination must be given in writing.

We act as your agent in advising you and arranging investment transactions. Before advising you on investments and savings we will establish your investment objectives and your “attitude to risk”. We never own the investments which you buy through us.

If we receive commission from the issuer of a security or from another intermediary, we will inform you.

Campton (Financial Services) Limited do not handle clients' money.

We never accept a cheque made out to this firm (unless it is a cheque in settlement of charges or disbursements for which we have sent you a previously agreed bill) or handle cash.

All investments will be registered in your name unless otherwise agreed in writing. We will be pleased to advise on the progress of your investments from time to time if you request us to do so.

We will forward documents of title of your policies or investments to you as soon as practicable after we receive them. Where a number of documents relating to a series of transactions is involved we will normally hold the documents until the series is complete and then forward them to you.

We keep records of all our business transactions for seven years. You (or your agent) may inspect contract notes, vouchers and entries in books (whether kept manually or electronically). We treat our clients' records, whether paper based or on computer, as confidential, so we reserve the right to give you access to your records only. The provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998 apply.
